The USF Pro 2000 Championship Presented by Continental Tire, part of the USF Pro Championships program, traveled to St. Petersburg for rounds one and two of the 2024 season this past weekend. Competing out of the Turn 3 Motorsport stable was Danny Dyszelski who had a strong first weekend of his first full USF Pro 2000 season, including a podium result to kick off his 2024 campaign.

“Overall, it was a good weekend on the streets of St. Pete,” Dyszelski explained. “We weren’t able to showcase what we were capable of in race one due to a mechanical issue, but in race two we proved that we can and will fight at the front end of the field.”

In the first and only practice session of the weekend, Dyszelski had a solid session, setting the eighth-fastest time. He followed that up with an even better qualifying, scoring the second-fastest time, and ultimately the outside row one starting position. For race one on Saturday, Dyszelski lined up on the first row alongside his teammate Lochie Hughes but experienced a mechanical issue only getting to run 12 of the 24 laps.

After starting on the front row again for race two, Dyszelski fought at the front end of the field for the entire race, ultimately crossing the line in third and joining teammate Hughes on the podium for his first USF Pro 2000 podium result and a great end to the weekend.

“It’s great to stand on the podium during the first weekend of the season,” Dyszelski said. “I’m looking forward to more weekends like these with Turn 3 Motorsport, and I can’t wait to see what we can accomplish next time out at NOLA.”

Dyszelski will now turn his attention to rounds three, four, and five of the USF Pro 2000 Championship, which will take place at NOLA Motorsports Park over the April 5-7 weekend.
